Jin Hai Shi (Ocean), the former Pamela Haines, has officially left the householder's life to become a Novice nun.
(Shramanerika). Dharma Master Heng Ch'ih agreed to serve as her supervising Senior Bhikshuni and Heng Sure transmitted to Jin Hai the Ten Precepts of the Novice at Gold Coast Vihara, in Australia.
Those laity in attendance expressed their delight in the ceremony. It was truly a blessed event and represented the fufillment of many years of aspiration for Jin Hai Shi.

It's 6:20 AM in the Australian bush (that's forest, for you non-Aussies). Suddenly a sound rings out that you swear is a madman on laughing gas. Guo Ji has accompanied me as Dharma Protector on journies around the Buddhist world on behalf of the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association. He and his wife Guo Cuc and his daughter, Michelle took refuge with the Ven. Master Hsuan Hua fifteen years ago.
Visit to Bodhinyana Monastery. Invited by Ajahn Brahm to stay in Bodhinyana Monastery, Western Australia, was an outstanding experience. Continuing the brotherhood begun by Master Husan Hua and Ajahn Sumedho, I have the privilege of learning about Theravada Buddhism.
Been hanging with the Forest Bhikkus in Perth, Western Australia and doing lots of Dharma-speaking, meditation, and thinking about the future. Buddhism experienced a 79% growth in six years according to the Australian census.
