According to the study, they stated that being bilingual is a good way to delay the impact of dementia. But did they consider other factors that could play a role in helping to achieve a mroe active brain? Such as if some elders in the group played piano, or had a hobby solving puzzles, these too, might delay the onset of dementia / Alzheimer's.

Without ruling out these other factors, to say that being bilingual directly causes (or strongly correlates to) the delayed onset of dementia is not convincing.
