« "God is Breath...." Reflection on Breath in the Christian Tradition | Main | Zain Bhika, S. African Muslim, Sings of God in English »

hahhh..didn't realise the Christian tradition also practices meditation...just checked out some of the mentioned websites where it learnt the children are taught to repeat a prayer called MA-RA-NA-THA...i wonder what it means?...

This is a wonderful article - 12,000 children taught such a wholesome practice! I hope this continues vigorously for years to come.

To the poster 'Alan': Maranatha is word used by St. Paul in one of his letters and means, 'Come Lord!' It's not magical; any word or sound will do as a point of focus, but using this word, which so unhesitatingly invites Jesus into our lives, is perfect for the Christian meditator.
