Our Dharma-friend Sooliam Ooi passed away today peacefully in Plantation, Florida, of cancer. Nobody I know was better prepared to journey from this world to Amitabha's Pure Land. Sooliam's spirit was bright, his mind was open, his heart was fearless.His beloved wife and two fine girls are part of our Dharma-family. He raised his daughters to be both good and wise. From the family stringed orchestra to the hilarious puppet shows, Sooliam lived life the way it should be lived. He will be missed deeply but I can imagine that the Bodhisattvas who greet him as he emerges from a pure lotus flower in the Western Pure Land will have smiles on their faces and they will be strumming ukuleles and praising the Buddha.
